A health bulletin stated that his RT-PCR test came positive with mild symptoms Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Monday tested positive for COVID-19, a day after he fainted on a stage while addressing a municipal election rally in Vadodara.
In a health bulletin, UN Mehta Hospital, where Mr. Rupani has been admitted, stated that his RT-PCR test came positive with mild symptoms. His other parameters are said to be normal.
After he collapsed on Sunday evening, Mr. Rupani was given first aid at the venue, and then rushed to Ahmedabad in a chartered flight and was admitted to the UN Mehta Hospital in the Civil Hospital campus.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has said his government will soon bring a strict law against love jihad in the State.
He made the announcement while addressing a poll rally in Vadodara ahead of the municipal corporation elections. We are going to bring a law against love jihad in the Assembly. Such activities being done in the name of ‘love jihad’ will not be tolerated.The BJP government will bring strict laws against ‘love jihad’ in the coming days, he said.

To prevent the spread of coronavirus, the Gujarat government on Monday extended till February 28 the night curfew in four major cities of the state- Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot.
However, the duration of the night curfew has been curtailed by an hour and will be in force between 12am to 6 am instead of the earlier 11 pm to 6 am.
