Semi High-Speed Rail Between Ahmedabad And Rajkot: Railway Minister Assures Support To Gujarat CM Rupani’s Dream Project A Representative Image (Jack Snell/Flickr) The plans to build a 225 km-long semi high-speed rail project between Ahmedabad and Rajkot, a dream project of Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, got further boosted with the assurance of support from Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Ashwini Vaishnaw held a meeting with Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Friday (16 July). The semi high-speed rail project championed by CM Rupani will reduce the travel time between Ahmedabad and Rajkot to two hours. While Ahmedabad is the state s capital city, Rajkot is the principal city of the state s less developed Saurashtra region.
