CITY OF CARROLLTON RECEIVES $4 18 MILLION IN ASSISTANCE FROM DNR

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, FEB. 16, 2021 – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources awarded $4.18 million in financial assistance to the city of Carrollton for upgrades to its drinking water distribution system. According to a news release, the project is estimated to cost $4.47 million and is anticipated to be completed by December 2021. During the project, the city will replace more than 22,000 feet of pipe, along with fittings, valves, service connections, meters and other necessary accessories. This project will enable the city to maintain and operate a water system that meets drinking water quality standards and provides reliable water service both now and into the future.

Bronson PD technology upgrades, lower rates for residents trash

The Daily Reporter Technology upgrades are coming to the Bronson Police Department. The Bronson City Council Monday approved the purchase of two new TASER energy weapons from Axon Enterprise. The department applied for and received a $1,200 grant from the city’s insurance carrier, Michigan Township Participating plan. Axon Enterprise provided a quote of $2,649.60 for two new TASER energy weapons. The department will also get two new computers and a printer, as city council approved the $3,024 purchase. The computers will replace two purchased in 2013 and 2014.  Although over the $2,500 budgeted for computers, the balance will come from the Police Salvage fund, according to city manager Brandon Mersman.

The Council on Monday will consider a construction administration contract for the new water plant, which would be south of Bethel Valley Road. It would be able to treat 16 million gallons of water per day.
