Boothbay Harbor Boil Water Order lifted

Fri, 12/18/2020 - 9:45am Due to sampling results free of the presence of pathogens and after consultation with the Maine Center for Disease Control, Drinking Water Program (DWP), as of Dec. 18, 2020 the boil water order for those customers located in Boothbay Harbor on Middle Road, from the intersection of Lakeside Drive and Middle Road  to the intersection of McCobb Road and Middle Road including all of Hutchinson Drive and Patton Lane, per order of the DWP, has been lifted. Suzanne Crouch and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs today announced 12 rural Hoosier communities will receive more than $8 million in federal grant funding to improve water infrastructure. “These grants are vital to Indiana’s economic success as these projects should improve the quality of life in these rural communities,” Crouch said. “Collaborations between federal, state and local partners as they invest in the state’s water infrastructure is a win for Hoosiers as we work toward a stronger Indiana.” The State of Indiana distributes Community Development Block Grant funds to rural communities which assist units of local government with various community projects such as: infrastructure improvement, downtown revitalization, public facilities and economic development.

Groveland s Long Awaited Clearwell Rehabilitation Project Underway

Corrosion on GCSD clearwell Groveland, CA – Groveland Community Services District (GCSD) has begun its long-awaited $3.4 million Clearwell Rehabilitation Project. Both clearwells hold 2 million gallons of Hetch Hetchy water and provide for disinfection of the raw water used to serve the district’s customers. The most recent interior inspection of the tanks revealed severe internal corrosion. Customers were spared a hike in their monthly water bill as a state grant will pay for repairs to the Big Creek and Second Garrotte clearwells. “The District worked hard to secure grant funding for this project to eliminate the need for water rate increases that would be used specifically to complete this necessary work,” stated General Manager, Pete Kampa.
