MADISON, WI (WRN) â Governor Tony Evers ended his state budget address last night, with a challenge to legislators.
âOur opportunity to bounce back from this crisis calls for you to summon the will to get this done. Thereâs no time for false promises of hope and prosperity, with empty words that you know full well wonât match your actions. You can disagree with me if you want, but donât punish the people we serve so you can settle a score no one but you is keeping.â
Evers proposed a 91 billion dollar two-year spending plan, which includes raising one billion dollars in taxes, and a 1-point-6 billion dollar increase in funding for K-12 schools.
