Republican Kirk McCaslin to run for Millcreek Township supervisor

By Times-News staff Republican Kirk McCaslin will announce his bid for Millcreek Township supervisor on Friday. McCaslin, a Millcreek Township government employee for 36 years and a member of the West Lake Fire Department for 39 years, will make his announcement at a media-only event at 8:30 a.m. at Scott Park, located a block east of West Sixth Street and Peninsula Drive. McCaslin, according to a press release, is a lifelong township resident and graduate of McDowell High School. He is married and has four adult children.  The seat is currently held by Supervisor John Morgan, a Democrat. McCaslin said he is promising voters that he will serve only one, four-year term if elected, and focus on fixing roads, improving and maintaining parks, addressing flooding issues, and reaching a consensus regarding the fire commission.
