In Interview, Biden Ignores Hunter Scandal, Compliments Xi Jinping

February 8, 2021 On Feb. 7, CBS Anchor Norah O’Donnell asked Joe Biden in an interview that aired prior to Super Bowl LV about his son Hunter’s new memoir, but failed to ask about the scandal implicating him in Hunter’s many business deals with China, Russia, and Ukraine. Worse, President Biden failed to condemn Chinese dictator Xi Jinping, who is responsible for ethnic cleansing and other forms of totalitarian repression in China. “I’m sorry to get so personal,” O’Donnell said, referring to asking the president about his son’s battle with drug addiction in an apparent opportunity for him to paper over the federal numerous corruption probes into his family’s corruption that Biden has repeatedly denied and ignored.

I understand it s a time of sacrifice, said Wade Kapszukiewicz, mayor of Toledo, which has 60 fewer city workers than last year. I know businesses have had to tighten their belts and families have as well. I get it. But what is remarkable is that almost a year into this, we have not received a single penny of revenue replacement

Connecticut needs a strong two-party system, this Democrat says

Connecticut needs a strong two-party system, this Democrat says J.R. Romano’s recent resignation as the state’s Republican Party chair has brought into focus the need for a viable opposition party in Connecticut. It is not healthy politics when everything is totally controlled by one party:  the legislature, the governorship, and most of the major municipalities in our state. The Democrats have more than working control of the legislature and, obviously, have the governor’s office. So, who will have control over the Republican Party in Connecticut? Romano was a down-the-line person supporting President Trump. His strong support for Trump, in my view, helped make the GOP more of an extreme party rather than the conservative Republican Party of decades past. One would hope there are 17 Republican votes in the U.S. Senate to find Trump guilty and prevent him from holding any further federal office.
