Washington DC, Feb 2, 2021 – Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell denounced newly elected Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Monday, calling the far-right Georgia Republicanâs embrace of conspiracy theories and âloony liesâ a âcancer for the Republican Party.â
âSomebody whoâs suggested that perhaps no airplane hit the Pentagon on 9/11, that horrifying school shootings were pre-staged, and that the Clintons crashed JFK Jr.âs airplane is not living in reality,â said McConnell, R-Ky., referring to a handful of conspiracy theories that Greene has publicized in the past. â

Democrats have introduced a resolution to strip a pro-Trump Republican lawmaker of her committee assignments over her past posts on social media.
