Unlike Trump’s first impeachment in early 2020, several Republicans have signaled that they will support the Democrat-led effort the second time around. Some reports say that more than a dozen House Republicans will ultimately vote to impeach the president, and several, including Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney, have already said that they will do so. Several senators have also floated backing any articles sent by the House, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has reportedly considered voting to convict Trump.
