U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney, ousted Wednesday from her House Republican leadership role, says she’ll do everything in her power to keep former President Donald Trump out of the White House in the future, describing him as a danger to the republic who continues to broadcast false election claims that have infected the GOP.
“I will do everything I can to ensure that the former president never again gets anywhere near the Oval Office,” she told reporters on Capitol Hill. “We have seen the danger that he continues to provoke with his language. We have seen his lack of commitment and dedication to the Constitution, and I think it’s very important that whomever we elect is someone who will be faithful to the Constitution.”
