Resident Evil 8 gameplay and “more news on the Resident Evil franchise” hit next week
Resident Evil 8 – or, sorry, Resident Evil Village – is due to launch sometime this year, but we still haven’t seen much of what to expect from the latest in the classic series of horror games. That’s changing later this month with the Resident Evil Showcase, a stream that will reveal “a new trailer, first-ever gameplay, and more Resident Evil news”.
The Resident Evil Showcase will broadcast on January 21 at 14:00 PST / 17:00 EST / 22:00 GMT. (Capcom isn’t especially specific on where the stream will be shown, but the official YouTube and Twitch channels are a safe bet.) The stream will be hosted by Brittney Brombacher and a number of Resident Evil producers.
Resident Evil Beta for Secretive Multiplayer Game Revealed
In addition to the planned release of
Resident Evil Village later this year, it looks as though Capcom has plans to launch a new multiplayer game set in the iconic universe as well. A new closed beta phase for this mysterious project has now become available with fans being able to take part in play sessions for the title later this month.
Following the announcement of the Resident Evil Showcase earlier this morning, a new page on the official website for the franchise went live. This page features an application that allows users to sign up to take part in a closed beta for a new multiplayer game that Capcom seemingly has in the works. This game (or accompanying mode) is said to boast four to six players in total and is simply being referred to as a “closed beta test celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Resident Evil!” It’s also only available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, potentially telling us that this will be a
