Domesticate your global thinking, Ebonyi deputy gov urges Nigerians

Deputy Governor of Ebonyi state, Dr Klechi Igwe has urged Nigerians, particularly the youths to always domesticate their vast thinking and aspirations.
Igwe said that while he encouraged global versatility, the Nigerian people should ensure that their thought processes should be narrowed towards Nigeria growth and patriotism.
The Ebonyi Deputy Governor spoke in Enugu, during the presentation of ‘Footprints of Excellence: 80 leadership lessons from Global Titans’ written by Dr Jasper Uche of the Department of Political Science, University of Nigeria Nsukka, on Friday.
Igwe said the book was a fine academic work, describing the author as a Christian with high brand values.

Kogi by-election: INEC presents certificate of return to PDP candidate in Ibaji

Following the verdict of the Federal High Court in Abuja which sacked the lawmaker representing Ibaji Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Atule Egbunu, the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) on Monday, officially presented the Certificate of Return to Hon. Daniel Enefola Ojata of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The presentation of the certificate of return was done by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof James Apam at the INEC headquarters in Lokoja.
DAILY POST recalls that Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, 29th January, 2021 ordered the removal of Mr Egbunu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) member, and directed that he be replaced with the candidate of the party with the next highest votes in the December 5, 2020 by-election in the constituency.
National Award: Oyo REC tasks corps members on diligence, dedication

The Resident Electoral Commissioner(REC) in Oyo state, Mr Mutiu Agboke, has called on corps members to always be diligent and be dedicated to duty in the course of serving their fathers’ land.
Agboke made the call while receiving one of the 110 corps members, Miss Adetutu Seriki, that recently received national awards.
Seriki, a Computer Science graduate, served between 2018 and 2019 at the INEC state headquarters in Ibadan as her place of primary assignment.
She embarked on quite a number of projects as part of her community development service, which earned her the national award.
INEC clarifies expansion of access to polling units nationwide

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers, on Thursday, provided clarification on the expansion of access to polling units before the 2023 general election.
Mr Obo Effanga, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, gave the clarification in a statement issued by the Public Affairs Officer, Mrs Geraldine Ekelemu to newsmen in Port Harcourt.
Effanga stated that the commission was currently holding national consultations with various stakeholders on expanding access to polling units and decongesting existing ones clustered in the same location.
He further said that the commission would later hold similar consultations at the state and local government levels, on modalities and parameters for relocating some of the voting points.
