Limpopo: Teacher arrested for raping learner ‘on several occasions’
Limpopo police are investigating a case of rape against a teacher, who is alleged to have victimised a female pupil in 2018
The man was arrested on Friday, 14 May 2021, approximately three years since the incidents are alleged to have occurred.
The teacher is set to make an appearance in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Monday 17 May 2021, facing three counts of rape. Police have said that for now, investigations into the matter are continuing.

According to police, the teacher not only offered the young woman money, but at some point, threatened to harm her, if she ever spoke out about the rape incidents.

A 50-year-old teacher has been arrested for allegedly raping a pupil at a Limpopo school.
TimesLIVE is aware of the name of the school, but has chosen not to publish it so as not to risk identifying the victim.
The pupil, who was 17 years old when she was raped in 2018, was also allegedly at one point threatened and offered money for her silence.
Police spokesperson Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said that the teacher raped the pupil, who is now in matric, on several occasions during 2018.

The Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Port Elizabeth is seeking the community’s assistance in tracing a 13-year-old Missionvale teenager and the person she allegedly left within December 2020.
It is alleged that on 12 December 2020 at about 10:00 Sinovuyo Zilani from Alloes Valley in Missionvale left with her neighbour Vuyiseka Nqonqo Joni (40) and Joni’s son in a green vehicle (make and model unknown). According to information received at the time, it was alleged that they were going to Cleary Park shopping centre however Joni left the house with bags of clothing. They have since not returned.
The Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Motherwell is seeking the communities’ assistance in tracing a 13-year-old teenager who went missing on Saturday, 16 January 2021.
According to police information, Zenathi Bekela left her house at about 14:00 on the mentioned date in Luwela Street, Soweto-on-Sea. She informed her aunt that she was going to visit a friend close by and never returned. Her mother reported her missing on Monday, 18 January 2021.
She was last wearing a grey top, black jeans and pink sandals. She has braided hair.
