Coun. Mitchell Tweel says he wants the province to hold a public meeting at the current location of its outreach centre in Charlottetown before proceeding any further with a potential plan to move the centre to the former Charlottetown Curling Club in Tweel’s ward.
Male victims of violence on P.E.I. to get more support
P.E.I. Family Violence Prevention Services will be hiring two new part-time outreach workers to help male victims of violence, one in Charlottetown and one in Summerside.

San Antonio’s Battered Women’s and Children’s Shelter experienced structural damage this week because of the winter storm, but its more than 160 domestic violence survivors are safe.
“The good news is that our guests, our women and children, are not affected,” said Marta Prada Peláez, CEO of Family Violence Prevention Services, which operates the second-largest emergency shelter in Texas.
