2,000 hectares ready for FG’s housing scheme

OVER two thousand hectares of land with titled documents have been given by 24 States for the Federal Government’s Social Housing programme, while 17 have indicated interest to participate in the Solar Power programme in the ongoing Economic Sustainability Plan.
This is as an agreement has been reached with one of the major cement manufacturers in the country to sell at significantly discounted prices as low as N2, 600 per bag of cement for the social housing projects.
The agreement was reached after a meeting Vice President Yemi Osinbajo held with three major cement manufacturers in the country, Dangote Cement, Bua Cement and Lafarge Cement manufacturers.

THE Presidency on Sunday said 24 states had issued titled documents of over 2,000 hectares of land for the present regime’s social housing programme.
It also said 17 more states had indicated interest to participate in the Federal Government solar power programme.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja.
According to the statement, arrangements have been made with at least one major cement manufacturer in Nigeria to sell for as low as N2,600 per bag for the social housing scheme.

The Federal Government has announced that over 2,000 hectares of land with titled documents have been given by 24 states for the Social Housing Programme.
Vice president’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, who stated this in a statement on Sunday, also said that 17 states have indicated interest to participate in the Solar Power programme, both of which are elements of the ongoing Economic Sustainability Plan (ESP).
The statement added that an agreement has been reached with at least one major cement manufacturer in the country to sell a bag of cement for N2600 for the social housing projects.
