AdventHealth Hendersonville has introduced the newest recipient of its Sunshine Award. Danny Sherrill, RCP, RRT is part of the AdventHealth Hendersonville Respiratory Services team.
Sherrill earned this award because of his dedication to providing not only respiratory care to patients, but to ensuring their safety throughout their time in care, AdventHealth stated in a news release.
His nomination came from AdventHealth Hendersonville ER Nurse, Chelsea Fowler, RN.
Fowler wanted to thank Sherrill for going beyond his respiratory therapy duties to ensure the safety of a patient who was experiencing a severe coughing episode. Sherrill immediately eased the patient to a safe position and stayed at her side as her coughing subsided, the release says. He then assisted her back to a safe position for him to run the test he had been called in to complete. Before leaving he made sure the patient was safe and comfortable on the stretcher.

The first official class will train in family medicine at AdventHealth Sebring to address the need for more rural doctors. SEBRING, Fla. (PRWEB) May 11, 2021 AdventHealth Sebring is the only hospital in Highlands County to provide third-year medical students from various national and international colleges, the opportunity to get real-world learning experience in various clinical settings. Eight medical students from Antigua, Curaçao, Grenada, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, and Bradenton, FL, have been admitted to the family residency program at AdventHealth Sebring. The residents will embark on a three-year robust clinical curriculum that will support their growth as future doctors.
