We’re all on the same sea but in different boats has been one of the best ways of describing the varying experiences of people during the pandemic. One particularly rocky and directionless boat is occupied by young people trying to steer a course at a time of great uncertainty around lost education, qualifications and job opportunities. As part of our recent ‘Voices from the Frontline’ event young Cumbrians have told us about their experience of lockdown and the pandemic.
A FREE workshop is to look at gaming addiction in teenagers. Cumbria Youth Alliance will be delivering an online peer led course for young people aged 13 to 17 on ‘Tackling Gaming Addiction’. The sessions are delivered remotely in two parts, and will be delivered by peer educator Katie Tyson, who overcame gaming addiction in adolescence and wants to share the importance of gaming for fun in moderation and the dangers of becoming addicted.
