Latest number of Covid-19 related deaths at hospitals trusts in Cumbria revealed

ALMOST a dozen new coronavirus deaths have been recorded at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust over the weekend, the latest official figures show. NHS England figures show 463 people had died in hospital at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on Sunday (January 24). That was an increase of 11 compared to Friday, when there were 452. It means there have been 31 deaths in the past week, up from 19 the previous week. Five new coronavirus deaths have been recorded at North Cumbria Integrated Care Trust over the weekend, the latest official figures show. NHS England figures show 345 people had died in hospital at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on Sunday (January 24).

More covid deaths reported by hospitals in Carlisle and Whitehaven

Deadly: An image of coronavirus MORE Covid-19 deaths have been reported by the NHS trust that runs north Cumbria s two main hospitals. According to the latest Government figures, there have now been 338 fatalities reported by bosses at The Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and Whitehaven s West Cumberland Hospital Nineteen of those were reported in the seven day up to yesterday - and 63 since January 1. The worst recent day for deaths was January 16, when seven were reported by the trust. Officials at the trust involved - North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - confirmed yesterday that the hospitals continue to be under extreme pressure, with around 300 covid patients being cared for across its two sites.

three clinic rooms Mike Schofield, consultant in emergency medicine and paediatric emergency medicine, said: “It’s easy to say that the new department will make a massive difference to children and the care we are able to provide. “The new department is much bigger; it has a large waiting area that will be able to accommodate far more people than before. “There is more space, more treatment rooms, better privacy provision, better isolation facilities, a dedicated safe space, a dedicated triage area for nursing staff and the capabilities of providing high dependency unit level care if required. “I think the new area is a space that we can all be proud of and I can’t wait for it to become operational.”
