POLICE have issued a plea to people to stay home as much as possible and exercise locally after a member of a mountain rescue team was seriously injured during a callout to a Lake District fell. Rescuers were called to a 47-year-old man who had had been camping on Red Screes, between Ambleside and Patterdale, and began suffering chest pains. The man, from the Leicester area, who was with another man from the Liverpool area, was taken to hospital by ambulance and discharged the same day. During the rescue in the early hours of Saturday morning, a member of Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team fell 150m and suffered serious injuries.
