Sky News host Paul Murray says state governments have to unite to get Australia through the COVID-19 pandemic which includes honouring commitments to pay New South Wales for taking in residents of other states into its hotel quarantine.
“We are a united country we are not separate nations, we need to drop this stuff as fast as possible and get back to unifying the country,” he said.
Mr Murray said the refusal of Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles to pay $30 million for hotel quarantine done in New South Wales for Queensland residents is “tit for tat garbage”.
“This guy is now pretending they don’t have to pay a $30 million bill that New South Wales has been racking up making sure people are going to Sydney, not Brisbane, and therefore the virus potentially getting out.”
