A queue of cars stretched out for kilometres before dawn as Melburnians turned out in droves for drive-through Covid tests amid fears of another extended lockdown.
Countless cars lined up at Melbourne s Deer Park testing station on Wednesday as worried locals waited to be swabbed for the virus.
The incredible scene was caught by a TV helicopter crew from Channel Ten, high in the skies above Melbourne s western suburbs.
The footage comes as the state waits to find out if there will be any escape from the current lockdown - or if the restrictions will be extended for another two weeks.

The influential Liberal senator James Paterson has warned that Australia has crossed an “enormous threshold” by criminalising its citizens returning from India, coming out against the travel ban.
The health minister, Greg Hunt, formally enacted the ban on 1 April in an attempt to lower the Covid-19 infection rate in Australia’s hotel quarantine system, which was experiencing a spike in cases due to the escalating crisis in India.
In a midnight press release, Hunt trumpeted that the ban was enforceable with fines of up to $66,600 and five years in prison – penalties legislated in 2015 when the Biosecurity Act passed parliament.
