CS Energy, a Queensland government owned energy company, has joined forces with Japanese engineering company IHI Corporation Japan to develop renewable hydrogen demonstration plant in Australia.
The two firms will evaluate the feasibility of setting up the green hydrogen pilot plant adjacent to CS Energy’s Kogan Creek Power Station, a 750MW coal-fired power plant in the Western Downs Region in Queensland.

Super solution in hybrid capacitor development
In a step towards a new type of energy storage, QUT researchers have developed a hybrid supercapacitor that offers the best of both worlds in energy storage.
When it comes to the electronic devices we commonly use, energy storage is typically done in either batteries of supercapacitors, with both having their own strengths and limitations.
Batteries store large amounts of energy but are slower to discharge energy. Supercapacitors can only store about one-tenth of the energy of a battery but are quicker at discharging it. They are used as secondary power supply in devices such as smartphones, cameras and laptops, and have a far longer cycle life.
I have concerns about the enthusiasms of NZ police from time to time, but I wouldn t trade the worst of them for Russians.

Great to read this, thank you to the the community and mana whenua, for some real action on our environment. I just hope that all abide by this and we don t see any going against this as it is viewed as optional . Better to see the local body/govt formalise this. Better still enlarge such protection into other areas Mana whenua on Waiheke island are placing a two-year rāhui on the island in a bid to stop four species of kaimoana from collapsing.

The number of Victorian children being home schooled has increased by 20 per cent in the past year, as many families continue to teach their children at home following their experience with remote learning during the pandemic.
While home schooling has been growing in popularity for some time, registrations in 2020 grew at almost four times the rate of the previous year.
“The higher rise in the number of home school registrations in 2020 was expected with the coronavirus pandemic influencing some parents’ decisions for their children to remain at home following a period of remote learning,” an Education Department spokesman said.

Powering up his local governmentâs car fleet with electric vehicles is one way for Canterbury Bankstown mayor Khal Asfour to deliver on his councilâs climate commitments â but itâs saving some serious cash, too.
âThe majority of our electric fleet consists of the Hyundai IONIQ, with each of these vehicles saving council in excess of $11,000 a year in maintenance and fuel costs,â says Cr Asfour. Heâs starting small â with 46 electric or hybrid vehicles â but aiming big, with a 2025 goal to make all 345 of the councilâs fleet electric vehicles, or EVs as theyâre known.
