Property owners learn to fight fire with fire

Dr Sam Lloyd is keen to spread the word on protecting wildlife and properties from wildfires. She heads up the Queensland Fire and Biodiversity Consortium which is hosting the fire and vegetation information session from 5.30pm on April 29 at The J in Noosa Junction. The information session is hoped to build the capacity and resilience of bushfire-affected communities to protect and conserve threatened species . The evening aims to better inform landholders of their fire management roles and responsibilities, fire season planning and preparation, as well as managing fire regimes to protect and enhance native vegetation. Representatives from Queensland Rural Fire Service, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services, Noosa Shire Council and forest harvester HQ Plantations as well as traditional landowners will share their expertise.
