The owners of Australiaâs largest cancer care provider, Icon Group, are seeking an exit and have tapped Jefferies Australia to help oversee a $2 billion-plus auction,
Street Talk understands Jefferies will join Goldman Sachs on the mandate with an auction slated to get under way by mid-June when a sale flyer will be sent to prospective acquirers.
Icon CEO Mark MIddleton will field offers in coming months for what is Australiaâs largest private cancer and oncology services group.Â

Subscriber only MORE than $30 million worth of high-end real estate is settling every day on the Gold Coast with almost a billion dollars worth of million-dollar-plus properties changing hands in just four weeks. Big-ticket sales include a 40ha farmhouse property at Gilston, a riverfront estate at Carrara and a slew of Sovereign Islands mega-mansions. Queensland Government records show 389 properties settled in April for a million dollars or more, more than double the 148 transactions settled for the same time last year. The sales, which include residential and commercial holdings, totalled $944.5 million for the month, an average of $2.43 million each.

The national carrier is set to keep its heavy maintenance facility in Brisbane, however, the state has failed to win thousands of the airline s corporate jobs and its headquarters from Sydney. It is understood Qantas is preparing to announce the findings of its eight-month-long property portfolio review, which considered consolidating its Mascot Qantas and Melbourne Jetstar headquarters. The Courier-Mail can reveal Qantas is in the final stages of talks to keep its heavy maintenance facility at Brisbane Airport and expand its investment in Queensland, potentially including regional airports.
