Visit the bird banding station at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm, where scientists from the Biodiversity Research Institute and the Maine Medical Center Research Institute study bird migration, breeding activities, life spans, and vector ecology. Explore the Shore. The treasures we find on the beach can tell us stories about the land, the ocean, and the beach itself. The University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Benton County will be having their annual plant sale next month in Sauk Rapids.
The master gardeners will not only be selling plants, but they ll also be on hand to answer and gardening questions you might have.
Over the weekend I bought some potted grasses for my window box, and nine cherry tomato plants for my raised garden bed. A few weeks ago I bought native Minnesota, pollinator-friendly plants for my backyard and I m waiting for them to be delivered.

Food security is one of the main issues Randolph County residents face, according to a 2019 Community Health Assessment. Through the Master Gardener Volunteers program, the Randolph County Cooperative Extension is training people to extend educational opportunities that improve the community.
The program wants volunteers to foster an understanding of where food comes from, how it is produced and cultivate environmental stewardship within the community. The initiative also supports the health and well-being of the community through gardening to promote access to fresh and healthy foods.

STEUBENVILLE The Ohio State University Extension office of Jefferson County is accepting new applications for the Master Gardener Volunteer training program for residents of Jefferson and Harrison counties.
The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer program provides intensive training in horticulture to interested Ohio residents who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for Ohio residents through their local OSU Extension county office.
Volunteers are not required to have gardening skills or knowledge, but a passion for learning about gardening and sharing this knowledge with others is a must, according to Erika Lyon, agriculture and natural resources educator, OSU Extension Jefferson and Harrison counties.
