Police responded to a two-car crash on Cranberry Highway at 5:30 PM. The driver of a gray 2014 Nissan Maxima rear-ended a blue 2017 Chevrolet Silverado in the area of Vermont Street. Police identified the driver of the Nissan as Dwight Lloyd, 34, from Provincetown. Police cited him for following too closely. The car was towed from the scene.
Thursday, February 18
At 12:24 PM, police responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of Scenic Highway and Church Lane. The driver of a gray Toyota RAV4 was going in the direction of Sagamore Beach. The driver, identified as Gilbert Ferreira, 87, from Bourne, attempted a left turn onto Church Lane and collided with a white 2018 Hyundai Sonata headed toward Buzzards Bay. Mr. Ferreira was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two people in the Hyundai were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed. Police cited Mr. Ferreira for making an improper turn.

ROCHESTER After nearly two years of meetings, talks and approvals, the 208-unit Rochester Crossroads apartment complex is ready to begin construction.

Nomination papers are now available for the upcoming Town Election, and a race for a seat on the Board of Selectmen is on the horizon.
The Town Election will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4.

He will be facing one challenger: Glenn Lawrence, a current member of the Finance Committee.
Slavin was first elected to the Board of Selectman in 2012, and is a longtime member of the Southeastern Regional Planning & Economic Development District, the Massachusetts Selectmen’s Association and the Massachusetts Municipal Association.
Asked why he is running again, Slavin said there are a number of large town projects that he has been working on for years and would like to see through, including bringing the commuter rail to Wareham, fixing up Merchants Way, and building a new police station and community center.

ROCHESTER Approval for a 208-unit mixed housing and commercial development at 22 Cranberry Highway will have to wait a few more weeks.
