Sparrow opens indoor vaccination site, triples daily capacity LANSING – A new indoor COVID-19 vaccination site that opened Monday inside the former Sears at Frandor will nearly triple Sparrow Health System s daily capacity. Sparrow expects to administer up to 3,000 doses of the vaccine each day at the indoor site. Sparrow will discontinue vaccinations at its drive-thru center, which operates in the service bays of the former Sears auto center at Frandor. Elizabeth Reust, Sparrow Health System’s lab manager, said increasing vaccination capacity will help move Greater Lansing and state closer to the 70% goal needed to reach herd immunity. “If we’re going to get there, we just get there a lot faster if I can give 3,000 shots a day,” Reust said.
