A line of severe thunderstorms swept through southern Wisconsin early Thursday morning, spawning at least four tornadoes in Jefferson and Waukesha counties and triggering a brief tornado warning in Rock County.
One of the four tornadoes confirmed by the National Weather Service in Milwaukee touched down in the town of Concord in eastern Jefferson County, leaving widespread damage in its wake. No serious injuries or deaths were reported.
NWS meteorologist Andy Boxell said there were two tornadoes that touched down outside Watertown. He said they were only on the ground for a few minutes.
Boxell said the tornado that struck Concord tossed tree limbs, lifted homes off their foundations and wrapped debris around trees like twist ties.
