AEW Dynamite: Kenny Omega reunites with Young Bucks, Good Brothers

AEW World Champion Kenny Omega defended his title against Rey Fenix in the main event of Dynamite where the champ was joined by old friends.
ADVERTISEMENT Omega and Fenix had a highly-competitive and high-flying match that pushed both grapplers to the limit. Wednesday s episode of Dynamite was the first night of AEW s New Year s Smash event.
Fenix was able to survive multiple Powerbombs from Omega and reverse his One-Winged Angel finishing move. Fenix performed a Cutter and attempted a Frog Splash that Omega blocked by putting his knees up.

AEW Dynamite celebrates the life of Brodie Lee

Dec. 31 (UPI) AEW dedicated it s latest episode of Dynamite to Brodie Lee, a star professional wrestler in the company who recently died at the age of 41.
Dynamite opened on Wednesday with the entire AEW roster at the entrance ramp along with president and CEO Tony Khan and Lee s family. The group stood silently for a 10-bell salute.

Lee, real name Jon Huber, was the leader of The Dark Order in AEW and was a former TNT Champion. Lee, before AEW, competed in WWE as Luke Harper where he was a member of The Wyatt Family and was a former Intercontinental and SmackDown Tag Team Champion.
WWE & AEW Stars Promote Brodie Lee Celebration Of Life Dynamite Episode, Special Lee Theme Released
Several WWE and AEW stars are tweeting to promote tonight’s special AEW Dynamite episode on TNT, which will be the Celebration of Life tribute for Brodie Lee, who passed away last Saturday at the age of 41 due to a non-COVID-19 lung issue.
Dolph Ziggler indicated that he does not watch the weekly WWE NXT or Dynamite shows, but will be tuning in to AEW tonight.
“Well for the first time since I can remember, I’m watching wrestling tonight. If possible, I think we all should. Cheers [clinking beer mugs emoji] [delivery truck emoji],” Ziggler tweeted.
As noted, AEW President, CEO & General Manager Tony Khan announced today that Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite episode on TNT will be now a tribute to Brodie Lee (Jon Huber, fka Luke Harper). Harper passed away at the age of 41 on Saturday due to a non-COVID-19 lung issue.
Khan announced a special card for Wednesday’s tribute show, which will see the favorite wrestlers of Lee’s son Brodie Jr. team up, for one night only. Khan announced Orange Cassidy, Cody Rhodes and Preston “10” Vance vs. Team Taz as one of the matches. He noted in a follow-up tweet that these are three of Brodie Jr.’s favorite wrestlers.
