During the NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam event today there were a number of championships that changed hands.
- To begin with, Tory Yano lost the provisional NJPW King of Pro Wrestling 2021 trophy. Yano was eliminated by Chase Owens in a 22-man battle royal. This brings to an end Yano’s 201-day reign.
- The IWGP Jr Heavyweight Championship is now in the hands of Robbie Eagles after he defeated El Desperado. This is Eagles’ first reign with the championship.
- In tag action, new IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions were crowned, with Zack Sabre Jr and Taichi of Dangerous Tekkers defeating Tetsuya Naito and SANADA. The match was given a lot of air time and was a brilliant tag team showing.
You wouldn t know going off his appearance but Finn Balor has just turned 40.
In a recent interview back in February with SportsBible.com Balor discussed coming up to 40 and how he has no plans to retire anytime soon. It feels like just yesterday when I started in the business. For me it s all happened so fast and I ve had such a great time. Yeah, 40 in the summer - 20+ years in the business and [I ve] enjoyed every day. I feel better at 39 than I did at 29 so I m excited to see how the future s going to pan out. I ve still got the passion, still got the desire, still thankfully got my health. At 29 I was banged up; I was sore and I was tired. I didn t think I d make it to 39 in regards to wrestling in the ring.

Vader vs. Savio Vega:
Match was nothing compared to the post match angle, which had Vader attacking referees and even WWF President Gorilla Monsoon.
Razor Ramon vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley:
Solid match that continued to build towards Razor/1-2-3 Kid at the next In Your House.
Bret Hart vs. Goldust:
Nitro:
Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship:
Really good match, and Savage would win the title, marking the first ever world title change on Nitro.
Brian Pillman vs. Dean Malenko:
Good match, the finish was a unique way for a heel to win using the ropes.
PHOTO: Braun Strowman Spotted Attending A Recent Bare Knuckle FC Show Posted By: Ben Jordan Kerin on Jul 25, 2021
Former WWE Superstar Braun Strowman attended last Friday night’s Bare Knuckle FC event. A photo of Strowman was posted on the company s official Twitter page.
Strowman was released from WWE back in June and is currently sitting out a 90-day non-compete clause before he can sign elsewhere.
We recently reported WWE has shown some interest in bringing back Strowman with some in the company pushing for this to happen sooner rather than later.
