HONOLULU, April 30, 2021 /PRNewswire/ American Savings Bank, F.S.B. (American), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hawaiian Electric Industries, Inc. (NYSE: HE), today reported net income for the first quarter of 2021 of $29.6 million, compared to $15.7 million in the fourth, or linked quarter of 2020 and $15.8 million in the first quarter of 2020. Our financial results reflect good execution in an environment that remains challenging for bank profitability.
