Saint Mary (Kan ), Huntington (Ind ) Named USTFCCCA NAIA Programs of the Year ::: USTFCCCA

The USTFCCCA Program of the Year Award honors the institution that has achieved the most success in each academic year (spanning the cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field seasons) based on the institution’s finish at the NAIA Championships. In order to be eligible for the award, teams must qualify for each of the NAIA Championships. Scoring is based on the team’s finish at each NAIA Championship in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field (i.e. 1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points … 31st = 31 points) with the lowest total score for all three championships combined determining the award winner. Ties among schools split points for positions taken.

Outstanding Performers Named From 2021 NCAA DIII Outdoor T&F Championships ::: USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – Outstanding Performers of the Meet from the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). JP Vaught of Centre and Matthew Wilkinson of Carleton shared the honor of Most Outstanding Men’s Track Performer, while Marcus Weaver of UW-Eau Claire was named the Most Outstanding Men’s Field Performer. Emily Pomainville of SUNY Geneseo was named Most Outstanding Women’s Track Performer, while Isabel Maletich of Chicago and Sydney Thompson of UW-Oshkosh shared Most Outstanding Women’s Field Performer honors. Kansas track and field assistant coach Tom Hays was named the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) men’s Midwest Region Coach of the Year on Friday, marking his second career Midwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year honor.

Terry, Smith Gilbert & Watts Earn West Region Honors

TeeTee Terry was named West Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year, Caryl Smith Gilbert West Region Women's Coach of the Year and Quincy Watts West Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year it was announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) today (June 4).   Terry, Smith Gilbert and Watts were all instrumental in the Trojans winning their third consecutive Pac-12 team title, the team qualifying in 20 events for the NCAA Championships and for the current No. 2 team ranking.
