Indiana Tech headlines the National TFRI for the fourth straight year. The Warriors have amassed 18 national top-10 marks. Indiana Tech is paced by two national leading marks:
Jaylen Coleman in the triple jump (15.04/49-4¼) and the 4×800 (7:50.78c). The Warriors also have multiple athletes ranked in the top-10 in the 60, 200, 60H, high jump, and triple jump.
Dordt (Iowa) will start the season at No. 2 for the program’s best national ranking. With 13 top-10 nationally ranked marks, Dordt (Iowa) earned a program’s best ranking, bettering their No. 9 placement in Week 4 of the 2020 season. The Defenders have three No. 1 rankings:
Payton Mauldin in the 600 (1:19.09c),

Indiana Tech headlines the first National TFRI of the season. The Warriors have combined for 26 national top-10 marks. Five athletes have national leading marks in their respective events:
Loanie Cellard in the 3000 race walk (15:12.10),
Kylin Nichols in the 60H (8.73),
Erica Zayarath in the high jump (1.68m/5-6),
Carlie Turner in the long jump (5.95m/16-6¼) and
Renique Smith in the pentathlon (3350).
Concordia (Neb.) will start the season at No. 2 for the third straight year. The Bulldogs have compiled 23 top-10 nationally ranked marks, including the No. 1 mark in the pole vault by
Josie Puelz (3.85/12-7½). The Bulldogs also boast multiple athletes ranked in the top-10 in the 400, 600, pole vault, long jump, shot put, weight throw and pentathlon.
Cloud County CC headlines the National TFRI and received its best ranking in program history, easily eclipsing the previous best of No. 4 set in Week 5 of 2019. It’s easy to see why the T-Birds have been charted so favorably by the formula: Cloud County CC owns 22 top-10 marks nationally, including No. 1 marks in the 60 and 200 from
Mercy Ntia-Obong, the 600 from
Pamela Milano, the 1000 from
Ludjenie Mondesir, the mile from
Patricia Koma as well as the shot put from Marie Forbes in addition to the 4×400 relay team.
Iowa Central CC is ranked No. 2 with a plethora of talent to make a run at its first national title since 2016. The Tritons have 22 national top-10 marks, including top-ranked athletes in the 60H (

(Seguin) – Texas Lutheran first-year runner Caeli Taylor has been named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s National Athlete of the Week for NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country.
Taylor is the first TLU student-athlete to be named a National Athlete of the Week during a cross country season. TLU’s Marquis Brown was named the National Athlete of the Week for NCAA D3 Men’s Track & Field on April 4, 2017.
Taylor ran in her first collegiate cross country meet this past Saturday and won the University of St. Thomas Celt Invitational in Tomball, Texas.
The first United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings have come out and both the Mules and Jennies sit in the top-five.
The Jennies come in at number two in the country while the Mules are ranked fourth. The rankings are a point system based on season-best qualifying marks for individuals and relays. Teams earn points by their respective athletes and relays places in the national rankings.
So far this season, the Jennies have two athletes leading the country in their events. Ashlan Burton is tops in the shot put after her performance last week at the UCM Invitational and Hannah VanBuskirk leads the country in the pentathlon. VanBuskirk is also in the top-three in the 60m hurdles and the long jump. Kayla Goodwin has helped the Jennies out in the pentathlon, 60m hurdles, long and triple jumps where she ranks in the top-five in all four events.
