the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security
( BIS ) released a final rule that would add 77 new entities,
including Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation
Incorporated ( SMIC ), to the Entity List. All of the
newly added entities are subject to a license requirement for all
items subject to the Export Administration Regulations
( EAR ), even though some entities are subject to
different license review policies. Consistent with BIS s
clarification of the Entity List licensing requirements from
earlier this year, the license requirement will apply whenever any

Washington [US], December 22 (ANI): In another major setback to China, the US has designated 58 Chinese companies out of 103 companies as foreign entities with military ties thereby restricting export, re-export and transfers with them.
Along with the 58 Chinese companies, the remaining are Russian companies, the US Commerce Department said.
According to a statement from the Commerce Department, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) will amend the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) by adding a new Military End User (MEU) List, as well as the first tranche of 103 entities, which includes 58 Chinese and 45 Russian companies.

The United States has issued additional visa restrictions on Chinese officials over alleged human rights abuses, US State Secretary Michael Pompeo announced on Monday adding that China s authoritarian rulers impose draconian restrictions on the Chinese people s freedoms of expression.
In a statement, Pompeo said that the United States has been clear that perpetrators of human rights abuses like these are not welcome in our country.
