The holiday season is coming to an end and a Norfolk woman is offering to take your live Christmas tree, off your hands, and take it down to the outer banks for sand dune restoration.  This is the second year Crystal Matthews has collected Christmas trees at her home in Norfolk.  “I’m the crazy tree lady, Matthews joked. “I love that people support this cause instead of just throwing the trees in the dumpster. It really means a lot to me.”

Boone Police Seek Information In Trailer Theft High Country Crime Stoppers and Boone Police seek the public’s assistance in solving the following crime: During the daytime hours of November 21, 2020, a gray Homesteader enclosed utility trailer was reported stolen from the parking lot of Lowes Home Improvement, located at 1855 Blowing Rock Rd., in Boone. Store video surveillance recorded an unknown white male driving a black pick-up truck through the parking lot. The white male suspect parked the truck adjacent to the utility trailer. The suspect entered Lowes Hardware and then later returned to the parked truck. Video footage showed the suspect then backing up to the utility trailer and then driving away and left the area with it in tow a short time later. It is suspected that the suspect removed the trailer’s locking
