We know from the long lines seen at food pantries around the nation that millions of Americans are living precariously, on the edge of sinking into homelessness.

It also offers simple tips to help keep your home warm, like opening curtains or blinds in the day but making sure to close them at night. While temperatures have been somewhat higher than normal lately, Mother Nature could easily change that as the new year approaches. In order to stay warm but not empty your wallet, APS the state’s largest power provider is offering programs and tips to help lower your monthly power bill as well as assistance due to the ongoing pandemic.

APS pledges to help customers

Last year, Arizona Public Service Company (APS) suspended late fees and disconnections for nonpayment from March through December. APS also distributed almost $9 million via a special Customer Support Fund that provided one-time bill credits of up to $300 for residential customers and $1,000 for small businesses.  “Our pandemic bill relief programs have assisted more than 65,000 customers in 2020 to help those impacted by COVID-19 get back on their feet,” said Monica Whiting, APS chief customer officer. She said APS will continue to waive late fees for residential and business customers through Oct. 15. Beginning with January bills, APS will automatically place residential customers with past due balances of $75 or more on an eight-month payment plan.
