In addressing the carbon impact of a corporate travel program, air travel is the proverbial low-hanging fruit, but picking and preparing it is no easy task.
Carinata now a listed feedstock for CORSIA HEFA Sustainable Aviation Fuels
A recent update by The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) now includes carinata as a renewable fuel feedstock for hydroprocessed esters and fatty acids (HEFA) sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) with a similar greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint as waste and residuals, such as used cooking oil, for the same fuel type.
For sustainability being categorized with waste is a very good thing. The ICAO update demonstrates that Carinata can reach GHG savings on par with waste. Plus, Nuseed Carinata has the advantage of being a purpose-built, drop-in solution, with consistent quality and scalable production through existing infrastructure to help supply the rapidly growing global demand for renewable fuel.
China Eastern Airlines Makes Notable Achievements in Reducing Carbon Emissions and Pursuing Sustainable Development
China Eastern Airlines (China Eastern) has saved more than 600,000 tons of fuel oil and reduced about two million tons of carbon emissions in 2020, thanks to its efforts to improve operation efficiency and promote green development in recent years, according to the company s latest corporate social responsibility (CSR) report.
Last year, the airline introduced more than 1,000 new-energy vehicles for ground services and actively took part in market-based mechanisms for reducing carbon emissions and international affairs concerning global climate governance, extending its environmental protection efforts to various links in air and ground services.
The latest round of increased climate commitments from key countries bodes well for demand for greenhouse gas emissions offset credits, the International Emissions Trading Association said late April
On Day One, President Biden fulfilled his commitment to rejoin the Paris Agreement. Days later, he took executive actions to ensure we tackle the climate crisis at home and abroad – all while creating jobs and strengthening our economy. This week, he held a historic summit with 40 world leaders to show that America is back.
Over the course of two days and eight sessions, President Biden convened heads of state and government, as well as leaders and representatives from international organizations, businesses, subnational governments, and indigenous communities to rally the world in tackling the climate crisis, demonstrate the economic opportunities of the future, and affirm the need for unprecedented global cooperation and ambition to meet the moment.
