(KOLD News 13) - A manhunt is over after Georgia authorities captured 20-year-old Jsaan Strover, who escaped custody in an Atlanta airport as he was being extradited to Arizona. According to the Atlanta Police Department, Strover escaped Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy custody Thursday morning. Strover ran from deputies as he was riding in a tram at the airport, according to AZ Family. Deputies chased him into a nearby forest but the suspect was still able to get away. AZ Family reports the Maricopa County sheriff’s said he has plans to launch an internal review into what led up to Strover’s escape.

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - Authorities were searching for a murder suspect from Arizona who they say escaped from deputies near the Atlanta airport. According to Atlanta police, investigators from Maricopa County Arizona were in Atlanta to transport a homicide suspect from Georgia back to Arizona. While at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport the suspect, 20-year-old Jsaan Carlos Strover, escaped from Arizona authorities.  Maricopa County deputies said they were walking the suspect to the tram the runs from the airport to the car rental facility when the suspect took off and ran into a wooded area.

Jsaan Carlos Strover, 20, was handcuffed and not wearing shoes when he escaped just before 9 a.m. Thursday, Atlanta police said. The suspect, who was also shackled by his feet, was outside near the car rental center, not inside the terminal, according to the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. Strover was being extradited from Georgia to Arizona by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, police said.

The Atlanta Police Department said Jsaan Carlos Strover, 20, escaped from police custody Thursday morning, ABC News reported. He was handcuffed and was not wearing shoes.  He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and jeans. He is 6 foot 3 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and has tattoos on his arms and neck. ADVERTISEMENT The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Strover was last seen running into the woods near Global Gateway Connector. Authorities said Strover was being extradited to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona, where he is wanted on charges of first-degree murder, attempt to commit first-degree murder and aggravated assault, the Journal-Constitution reports.
