Thibodaux woman, found near road after hit-and-run, dies at hospital

THIBODAUX, La. The Thibodaux Police Department is investigating a deadly hit and run after a woman was found lying on the edge of a roadway Sunday evening.
Police Chief Bryan Zeringue said the woman, identified as 59-year-old Glenda Gravois, was discovered around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Canal Boulevard and Jackson Street. Gravois was taken to a hospital where she later died.

Houma Police urge shooting suspect to turn himself in
Police are asking the suspect accused of fatally shooting a man over the weekend in Houma to turn himself in.
Sherman Ruffin, 23, of Houma is wanted on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He’s accused of killing 26-year-old Houma resident Martin Jones early Sunday morning, the Houma Police Department said.
The incident occurred 1:30 a.m. on the 200 block of Plant Road. Jones died at a local hospital from multiple gunshot wounds he suffered in the shooting. Ruffin remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous, Police Chief Dana Coleman said.
