January 21, 2021 The St. Mary’s County Health Department (SMCHD) has received reports from community members about fraudulent phone calls incorrectly telling residents that they can “show up” to a SMCHD vaccination clinic without an appointment. There are also reports of robocalls inaccurately notifying residents that they are eligible to register for a vaccination clinic. These calls are not associated with SMCHD nor the Maryland Department of Health. All community members should note the following: Only individuals who have registered for a vaccine appointment and have confirmed appointment times should go to a vaccination clinic site at the date and time of their appointment to receive their vaccine

On Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021 at 8:50 pm, the suspects used a bar code in place of actual product bar codes at the self-checkout register at the California Walmart store. They then passed the last point of sale in an attempt to leave the store with the merchandise. January 6, 2021 The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the identity of the person operating a vehicle in a vandalism investigation. On Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 at 4:30 pm, the suspect drove off the roadway in the 48500 block of Heritage Hill Lane in St. Inigoes and across the lawn between two homes to access the utility right of way and then back out again. Due to recent rains, significant damage was done to both lawns. December 29, 2020 Tyriel Levar Gantt, age 24, and Terry Lee Kent Jr., age 30, both of California UPDATE: On Monday, December 28, 2020, at approximately 12:16 a.m., deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 21600 block of North Essex Drive in Lexington Park for the reported shots fired. Investigation determined two victims were seated in a vehicle, when another vehicle approached and fired multiple shots at the victim’s vehicle. One victim was struck in the upper back, and later transported via helicopter to an area trauma center for treatment and remains in stable condition. The second victim was not injured in the incident.

The following evening, this image was taken on the front porch of a nearby home from the burglary.
