Pro-Palestinian Group Attacks LA Jewish Men
Jewish groups condemned the attack. “To those who still believe there is a dividing line between hatred of Israel and antisemitism: open your eyes,” the American Jewish Committee tweeted.

A group of pro-Palestinians attacked Jewish men at a diner in the La Cienega area of Los Angeles on the evening of May 18.
Witnesses to the attack told NBC Los Angeles people in cars displaying Palestinian flags were shouting antisemitic slurs at Jewish diners. Another witness told CBS Los Angeles that the caravan was throwing bottles at a group of people sitting outside of Sushi Fumi.

Kalkidan Miller heard him yelling. At first, she thought he was preaching. Then she realized he was shouting at their group standing outside Olin T. Binkley Memorial Baptist Church near Fordham Boulevard as they held their weekly Black Lives Matter vigil.
âItâs not about Black lives,â Miller recalls the man saying. Other bystanders recall hearing him say âall lives matter,â and using the n-word. His daughter was standing beside him, adding some âyeahsâ and repeating after her father. He was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and holding a glass bottle. It was July 3, and he said the demonstrators were being un-American.

Law enforcement agencies in Georgia reported nine hate crimes involving anti-LGBTQ bias in 2019 as the number of overall hate crimes in the state more than doubled.
The increase in reported hate crimes comes as six times as many agencies in Georgia reported hate crimes in 2019 compared to the year before. But the number of agencies reporting hate crimes remains below the national average.
Some 77 of the 102 hate crimes reported in Georgia – or 75 percent – were motivated by the victim’s race, ethnicity or ancestry. Nine of the crimes – about nine percent – were motivated by the victim’s religion. Four of the crimes – or four percent – were motivated by the victim’s disability. Three of the crimes – or three percent – were motivated by the victim’s gender.
