The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office announced the End of Watch for one of its K9 deputies on Tuesday.

The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday the passing of one of its K9 deputies.
The department says K9 “Figo” passed away due to health-related issues.
Both Figo and his partner, Deputy Adam Clark, were injured in a wreck last February.
The sheriff’s office says Lt. Matthew Bales, who is in charge of the K9 program, has been working with Figo to try to rehabilitate him since the wreck.

A police pursuit that began in Jefferson County ended in Morgan County after a chase that involved law enforcement officers from several agencies, including Cullman County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the pursuit began at approximately 5:19 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 20, when an ALEA Trooper attempted to stop a 2004 Toyota Avalon for speeding on Interstate 65 northbound, near the 277 mile-marker in Jefferson County.
The Avalon attempted to elude the ALEA Trooper with speeds reaching up to 115 mph and entered into Blount County. The vehicle continued into Cullman County where Cullman County deputies spiked the Avalonâs tires at the 310 mile-marker. The vehicle continued into Morgan County where the driver was apprehended near the 329 mile-marker. DECATUR A man is now in custody after a high-speed chase up Interstate 65 on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says the chase started around 5:19 p.m. when a trooper attempted to pull over a 2004 Toyota Avalon near the 277 mile-marker, in Jefferson County. The driver refused to stop, reaching speeds of up to 115 miles per hour.
The chase went through Blount County into Cullman County, where deputies spiked the vehicle’s tires. But the car continued into Morgan County where the driver was apprehended near mile-marker 329.
“Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Falkville Police Department, Hartselle Police Department, and Priceville Police Departments all assisted in the pursuit and capture,” Trooper Brandon Bailey said.
