Wiltshire vaccine rollout: Why these sites are preparing to close

Three GP-led vaccine sites in and around Salisbury are set to close as pharmacies take a more prominent role in the next stage of the rollout. Leaden Hall in the Cathedral Close, Michael Herbert Hall in Wilton and Salisbury Plain Health Centre will not be part of the second phase of the vaccination programme, which involves providing the vaccine to people aged between 18 and 39, who are least likely to be seriously affected by coronavirus. People aged 30 and above are now eligible to receive the jab, and can arrange an appointment through the national booking system over the phone or online. 

Woman declared dead at Bristol station died leaning out GWR train

A woman was killed when she was struck by an overhanging tree branch as she leant out of a train window, an inquest has heard. Bethan Roper, 28, was declared dead in Bristol Temple Meads after suffering fatal head injuries on a Great Western Railway service travelling at around 75mph. The inquest at Ashton Court, near Bristol, heard Miss Roper, from Penarth, South Wales died on the evening of December 1, 2018 while returning home with friends from a day out Christmas shopping in Bath. Avon Coroner’s Court heard she was leaning out of the window of a door of a train heading for Bristol Temple Meads when her head was struck by an ash tree branch growing on land adjacent to the line.
