Students at Meaux Elementary school were recognized for outstanding achievement in the Accelerated Reading Program. Students who met their grade level points and comprehension goal received prize packs to mark their accomplishments.

Grade Level Leaders were recognized as well as the top six points earners at each grade level received. Four students were also given Barnes and Noble gift cards for entering the 100 Points Club and the 200 Points Club. These students prove that reading is cool at Meaux Elementary!

The students celebrated Read Across America Day with a two week celebration. All of the students learned about Dr. Seuss.

They read biographies about his life and why he chose the name Dr. Seuss. The loved how he used his imagination to create extraordinary characters and then brought them to life on the pages.

Today s Cool School is Meaux Elementary!
Meaux Elementary participated in the Kids Heart Challenge! Back in February, students took part in various activities and learned how to keep their heart healthy. One students loved, is the jump rope contest to see who can outlast the competition.

The Top Jumper in the school was Emma Trahan she jumped a total of 9 minutes 15 seconds without stopping! The Top Ten fundraisers in the school were rewarded a Free Dress day and got to SLIME Mrs. Caldwell, the PE teacher. The top fundraiser in the school was Kali Broussard, who raised $754.
