COLON, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce has a magical new member.
The Chamber has announced that the Grand Magic Theater in Colon has joined the Chamber. Duane and Mary Laflin own the company. They have performed on five continents, in 18 countries and in 47 of the 50 states in the U.S.A..
After traveling the world the Laflins decided last year to settle in Colon which is known as “the Magic Capital of the World”.
Their plan is to put on family-friendly shows in their Grand Magic Theater for years to come.

Tommy s House, a faith based transitional living facility for women recovering from substance use disorder, closed temporarily, but is now back in service.
On Thursday, the Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting celebrating the reopening of Tommy’s House.
The facility can house up to five women who have graduated from a rehabilitation program for three to six months, as they to prepare to return to independent living, said Laura Monroe, the new director.
Originally from Coldwater, Monroe moved away for about 12 years before returning home. With a medical background, she is now working toward becoming a certified substance abuse counselor.
