The evergreen fir tree has traditionally been used to celebrate winter festivals (
pagan and Christian) for thousands of years. Pagans used branches of it to decorate their homes during the winter solstice, as it made them think of the spring to come. The Romans used Fir Trees to decorate their temples at the festival of Saturnalia. Christians use it as a sign of everlasting life with God.

Baby Jesus lost and found in Henley-in-Arden

He was lost⦠but now heâs found! No not a lost soul but the saviour himself.
The Baby Jesus went missing from Henley-in-Ardenâs knitted nativity scene last week and now, as if by Christmas miracle magic, he has returned along with his little lamb who disappeared with him. Reunited scene below.

Perhaps Baby Jesus was wondering in the wilderness having an encounter with the devil before returning and cosying back up to his woolly mum Mary and knitted dad Joseph?
The knitted nativity is part of Henley-in-Ardenâs traditional festive yarn bombing of the townâs trees. It all started six years ago when a tree in St Nicholasâs churchyard was decorated ¬â the very tree that now hosts the knitted nativity.

The world is at a point where we can no longer assume that statements made by our leaders and those in high levels of society are true. It did not start recently. This article is primarily about two instances in the Bible when leaders and those in high levels of society told lies in connection with Jesus. If the lies had been successful, they could have changed the course of Christianity.
As a background, Satan told the first lie, through a serpent. The serpent initiated the conversation with Eve. It started beautifully with a casual, but calculated question with deadly consequences: “Did God really say you must not eat from any tree in the garden?”
