HALIFAX A 71-year-old man has been sentenced to one year in jail, followed by two years of probation after pleading guilty to charges resulting from an investigation into images of child sexual abuse. RCMP say the investigation began in February 2019 after receiving information from the RCMP s National Child Exploitation Crime Centre. On Oct. 2, 2019, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Saint John, N.B. As a result, police seized several electronic devices and a 69-year-old man was arrested at the scene. Brian Marshall, now 71, was sentenced on Friday in Saint John Provincial Court. Marshall has been added to the National Sex Offender Registry for 20 years and will be required to submit a DNA sample.

HALIFAX A 51-year-old man from Ammon, N.B., has been sentenced to three years in prison after he plead guilty to charges connected to an investigation into images of child sexual abuse. The investigation began in May 2019 when police executed a search warrant at a home in Ammon, N.B., resulting in the arrest of a 49-year-old man at the scene. He was released on conditions pending further investigation, according to RCMP. On May 15, 2020, Wayne Wilfred Toole was charged with possession of and making available child pornography. Toole returned to court on Thursday and was sentenced to 36 months for possession of child pornography and 36 months for making available child pornography.

Two southeastern men are facing child pornography charges following reports made to the RCMP.
Acting on several complaints from the RCMP National Child Exploitation Crime Centre, the Manitoba RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) began investigating two men, one from Stuartburn, and one from Steinbach.
ICE, the RCMP Digital Forensic Services Unit, and the Steinbach RCMP executed two search warrants, once on January 22, and one on January 27. The targets of the search warrants are unrelated, but are both connected to the complaints received by the ICE unit, RCMP Manitoba says.
On the 22nd, a 49-year-old Steinbach man was arrested and charged with Possess Child Pornography, Access Child Pornography, and Make Available Child Pornography.
