Pennsylvania-based retail chain Weis Markets announced Wednesday that it would begin vaccinating patients in 55 of its in-store pharmacies starting January 21.
The supermarket chain cited Center for Disease Control guidelines and state Health Department guidance to begin vaccinating patients aged 65 or older.

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester is among the nine locations in Minnesota chosen to participate in a pilot COVID-19 vaccination program announced today by Governor Tim Walz.
The pilot program will be allocated a limited amount of the vaccine to begin providing the shots to Minnesotans 65 years or older along with educators and child care workers.
Appointments will be required, and educators and child care workers are being told not to make an appointment unless they are notified by their employer that they have been selected to receive a dose of the vaccine. COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) As the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) determines if they will give the green light to Pfizer and BioNTech to mass produce their COVID-19 vaccine, states like South Carolina are figuring out how to distribute and administer their doses.
The FDA says South Carolina can receive as many as 300,000 doses by the end of the year.
As the FDA considers granting an emergency use authorization to the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine, which could happen in the coming days, state leaders want to encourage South Carolinians to be patient and not become complacent.
