47abc February 12, 2021 MARYLAND – Child care centers and providers received an announcement from Governor Larry Hogan about a grant program specifically for day care centers and providers. The Maryland State Department of Education established a $60 million grant program to support child care programs throughout the state. These funds can go towards operating costs and address lost revenue. This grant program comes as an addition to previous efforts to support child care providers reopening efforts, sanitization and personal protective equipment, as well as child care costs. Child care facilities in the area say they’re grateful for the help they’ve already received, considering this year has been challenging on not just the child care facilities, but the children as well.
