Burnt Hills resident Hannah Shell was seven when her brother was diagnosed with cancer. During this time, she found meaning through service by creating Shellstrong, her familyâs cancer research foundation. To date, Shellstrong has donated $300,000 towards childhood cancer research. Shell was a recipient of Northwestern Mutualâs Childhood Cancer Sibling Scholarship, alongside 42 other students nationwide, for the impact childhood cancer had on them as either a survivor or sibling. Each received a $5,000 renewable college scholarship.
